Agricultural Shows

The agricultural shows in the different regions are annual highlights on the calendars of the small country towns. These shows do not only create an opportunity for farmers to measure their animals against a given benchmark - it also presents a festive event where young and old can have social intercourse and a lot of fun.

It is here where learners and the youth can interact and where a foundation is laid for future leaders in agriculture. The underlying principle of these events is also to enforce an appreciation for the very important role that agriculture plays in our every day existence.

We can so easily get caught up in the stress and time consuming activities of our daily lives that we are not always aware that show weekends present a wonderful breakaway opportunity for the whole family. Children can have fun while they learn more about agriculture, women can satisfy their urge for buying at the many craft stands or attend one of the functions on the women’s programmes, while the men solve their disputes about which animals are the best.

Study the show dates on the programme and seize the opportunity of a trip into the countryside. Support our agricultural shows and become part of the unique world of small town life with its scenic beauty, its special people and the animals and other agricultural products that make agricultural shows an event to remember. Kinders kan pret hê maar ook in die proses meer van landbou leer, dames kan stalletjies besigtig en vroueprogramme bywoon en mans kan met mekaar redeneer oor watter diere die beste vertoon.
