Robertson Spring Show
The Robertson Spring (Lenteskou) Show is an annual modern and vibrant show. It is a combined horse and agricultural show rolled into one, showcasing some of the best that the Valley has to offer. The show had its beginnings as far back as 1899, in fact the first show was opened by Mayor F E Wallston on 20 July 1899. It soon became established as a very important event in Robertson and the surrounding areas. Old photographs depicted only men participating in the competitions. This all changed in 1908 when the first Ladies Riding competition was held. Before 1965 it was only a competition for local riders, which changed in 1965 when the first Western Province Regional Saddle Horse Championships were held, thereby altering the character of the Show to a more horse orientated one. Today the Saddle Horse with the Welsh and Hackney Ponies are the main attraction of the show.
